No Such Thing as Addiction to Prescription Drugs?

Question by Jaylonn: No such thing as Addiction to Prescription Drugs?
Whenever I hear abt ppl becoming addicted to xanax or adder all I always say man that is bulllllls***..

The first thing ppl do when they use pills recreation ally is use like 3 times the.reccomended normal dose and end.up blacking out and being sent to the hospital for drinking on them..

Every review or addiction story I read someone always says..my friend.said they’ll get me high.so I popped like 3 of em. WHY? Without even doing research or talking to a.doctor, u just gone sit there and be irresponsible and pop 5 bars on ur first time and then come on the internet and try to persuade ppl to take these drugs off the.market?? Some prescription and over the counter medications, particularly ones containing opiates like codeine and muscle relaxants like Valium/rivotril can be extremely addictive even if used as directed. The brain forms a chemical addiction to the drug after even a short period of sustained use, regardless of whether the user has ingested recommended dosage or exceeded it.

The drugs can also form a psychological dependence in the user if the user habitually uses such medications to cope with various disorders for which the drug is designed to aid. For example, many people become addicted to codeine based painkillers while using them as sleep aids/calmatives.
