Answer by Happy Feet
“That’s all do, they cut off your emotions in the end”

“Alcohol is the anesthesia by which we endure the operation of life.”

“Alcohol is the cause and the solution to many of life’s problems.”

“Alcohol is like love. The first kiss is magic, the second is intimate, the third is routine. After that you take the girl’s clothes off.”

Alcohol is a very patient drug. It will wait for the alcoholic to pick it up one more time.

Alcohol is necessary for a man so that he can have a good opinion of himself, undisturbed be the facts.

As a former heroin addict myself i must say Russell hits the nail on the
head over and over. Sadly i doubt much came out of this committee (I don’t
    live in the UK).?

  • AimOnTargets says:

Well, he knows what his talking about.?

  • stophateing says:

forget the drugys start arresting warmakers and politicians that made the
    case for high treason?

  • junkysligy says:

Am I the only one that thinks russel brand just says the same thing all the
time with the occasional quote thrown in.?

  • Videoslot says:

Seems to me that Russel is attempting to talk to this committee whereas the
committee is talking at him. There seems to be no give and take from the
committee. The panel is attempting to thrust their opinion such as “do yo
think if we focus on the origins of drugs”? then this is countered
effectively by Russell but wholly ignored by the committee who had recently
been on a wasteful trip to Columbia. Classic example of nonsense speak is
at 14:23 where a so called “either or” option is employed, but each option
is the same. Destigmatisation is the same as “acceptance of drug use”. It
seems that no substantial benefit comes from this discussion that will
change the policy of government 23:45 sums this up. Saying that, it is a
great insight into the concerns of Focus12 who only run on an average of
600,000 with staff costs of £250, 000. This can only scratch the surface
when compared to their potential and the resources that government throw at
their efforts to reduce drug dependency An ideal outcome would be for the
government to take on board suggestions form focus12 but I can’t see that
happening, yet! Don’t hold your breath.?

Sign Russell Brand’s petition to change the idiotic drug laws.

  • lind rondel says:

Wow, he really had something to say and I must say it makes it so
believable. He’s sober for more than 8 years I read it somewhere. Good for
him. Keep it that way Russell. He’s smart and great speaker. Too bad his
marriage to Katy did not last long. That’s sad.?

  • MelodicMellifluity says:

I thought the message in schools is too positive. I remember a bar chart
showing the harm done by various drugs, and several were below alcohol.
Supposed to show the harm of alcohol but implied those drugs were
    relatively safe?

  • sparkyinbath says:

Can’t he just put a suit on. Why has he gotta make ‘a statement’. It’s not
the Russell Brand show. It’s a committee on drug addiction.?

  • Travis Blackney says:

As Russell points out, people can live a perfectly healthy life with taking
drugs. However, some of us struggle with addiction- most likely due to
biopsychosocial influences on development- and this needs to be recognised
and treated for as an illness, not a crime. We don’t see scientists saying
‘cancer causes cancer’ because it’s simply unscientific, there are many,
    many environmental factors that contribute to the development of cancer;
much like there are many forms of social, emotional and psychological
incongruences in an environment that creates an addict. Looking at, and
blaming the drugs themselves, is simply a correlation-causal fallacy. ?

  • 4444jonn says:

I freaking love Russell but he really struggled to make his point and push
forward the ideas he has been advocating for. All he really pushed for in
this conference was the support for absence recovery and compassion for
drug addicts, thats good and all but Russell should have spend more time in
the decriminalization of drugs, like Portugal. I find it strange how he has
been advocating heavily for this ideas but then didn’t really talked about
it much when it actually matter…. Anyways keep up the good progressive
    work Russell.?

  • Artjoms Pugacovs says:

I have seen this guy on comedy movies.
    But is this for real??

  • Alan Defoe says:

Allow cocaine to come under the same umbrella as alcohol.Have it produced
legally and cheaply where it is not washed down with toxic
alternatives…There would be less pollution from illegal factories in
South America…..90% of drug related crime would be eliminated over
night…. Legal highs and other alternatives do far more harm to the body
than the real thing. The cocaine business is worth 100’s of billions of £’s
world wide with the vast majority not suffering from addiction…….If
this was the case all the hospitals and police cells would be filled to the
brim world wide…..If you have an addictive nature do not indulge in any
    activity that has some form of stimulant..which includes smoking cigarets;
drinking alcohol or taking recreational drugs….if you find that you
unfortunately have an addictive illness join an abstinence program and
learn that you are unable to partake in this type of activity……..If you
you have melanoma cancer in your family you would avoid package holidays
to the seaside in Spain and Portugal.?

  • Mike Black says:

  • Myrany13 says:

    He looks like devil himself!?

  • Lorne Taylor says:

I see UK has same problem as the U.S that is sorry motherfuckers having
control over the choices a person has over what they consume.but it’s ok
what those sorry sunsabitches want to put in our food water etc,who are
these ASSHOLES? Solution……give everyone their own FUCKIN prescription
pad and give the freedom to make his or her own choice as to what goes in
    their body.?

  • Jamie G says:

    A little bit off-topic – I’m fascinated by Russell’s vocabulary. It’s his
wide use of vocabulary (and of course his own wit) that enables him to be
so articulate. What does he read/watch/listen to in order to grow his
    vocabulary??

  • Roxy Star says:

it’s amazing you didn’t lose your shit earlier Russel, right at the
juncture where the moderator asks ‘if drug addicts were aware of the tragic
effects of the drug trade on the citizens of drug-run societes, would it
help”. i stood up and stormed a lap around the house because the question
was so idiotic, and, it glaringly revealed that he wasn’t authentically
connecting to the conversation at all?

  • Paul Felice says:
