Birthing Centers in MA?

Question by AnaB: Birthing centers in MA?
Does anyone know of/can recommend birthing centers in Massachusetts, preferably north of Boston. Do you know of a place where parents have a say in what drugs/shots/creams are given to newborn baby (as opposed to the one-size-fits-all approach by most hospitals/docs). Besides a home birth, what is the closest thing to that?

Not sure about birthing centers at northern mass. But you can refuse any treatments offered to your newborn at birth if you don’t agree or want them to get them.
The only one I would suggest not opting out of is the ointment they put on the eyes to prevent infection from developing after going through the birth canal.
