My mom is suffering from a mild case of altitude sickness, lethargy and headaches namely. Does anyone have any cures that work? Please do not write going to a lower altitude.

Acetazolamide can help treat this condition, but it requires a doctors prescription. As for over the counter remedies, try plenty of hydration. Try drinking gatorade. It will pass within a day or so of getting used to the altitude.
steroids like dexamethasone. the lethargy and headaches are ominous- they could be signs of cerebral edema, or swelling in the brain. steroids are the best thing to quickly decrease swelling
